The First Few Months
After the surgical procedure the surgeon will provide you with a treatment plan and at which time he/she deems it necessary, they will refer you to the prosthetist.

Through the years that follow - throughout the entire process - I will be there for you.

Whan Can You Start?
After a person has surgery due to a traumatic injury or to a carcinoma, the area must be well healed in order for it to accept an impression. Then you are ready to begin proceedures with me.
Aftercare
Once delivery of the product has been given to you and you have been instructed in its care, I will re-examine to make sure that everything is normal and at three and six month intervals.

Will I be able to play sports?
There no reason not to play sports, obviously any contact sports could lead to displacement of the prosthesis. If ever in any doubt it is advisable to remove the prosthesis during the participation of the sport.
What limitations should I expect?
Basically there are not limitations in wearing a prosthesis. An implant retained prosthesis gives the person more freedom than an adhesive retained due to not having to worry on the adhesive breaking down and resulting in the prosthesis detaching from the skin.
What follow up services are provided?
Generally little follow up is needed. The patient is advised to return in periodic intervals to check fit and color.
Is the procedure painful?
The procedure is completely painless.
Can I see photographs of similar patients?
In our office we have photographs of patients that have given us their permission to use aiding other patients.
May I speak with a patient you have treated with a similar situation?
Yes, we have patients that are more than happy to talk to patients in need of assistance.
Can I see and feel an actual prosthesis?
In our office we have numerous examples of ear, nose and eye prostheses to show to patients.

Proper maintainance of your prosthesis can prolong the life and enhance comfort to the wearer
