 Remakes
After a number of years use , remakes may be medically necessary depending on the wear and tear of the prosthesis. Also for therapeutic reasons, e.g., body fluids absorb into prosthesis; you gain or lose weight, which affects the size; etc. Ocular Prosthesis should be cleaned and glazed every 6 months to enhance them.

Typically with these materials there are no side effects. These materials are totally inert and the body doesn’t pay any attention to them, and the material doesn’t pay any attention to the body.
As far as the finished product is concerned, it is not necessary to use makeup, but some individuals, who use makeup on their natural face, can also transfer it to the prosthesis and it will accept it.
